Integrating Critical Infrastructure Networks into Flood Risk Management

Critical infrastructure (CI) networks are essential for the survival and functionality of society economy. Disruptions to CI services cascading effects these disruptions not currently included in flood risk management (FRM). The work presented this study integrates into every step FRM, including analysis, mitigation communication. A network modelling technique enables consequences be quantified as part analysis. derived from analysis include spatial overviews temporal succession disruptions. number affected end-users duration disruption arranged a matrix decision-making matrix. Thus, total is extended with consequences. By integrating characteristics assessment steps, wider range measures action can considered. Additionally, continuous participation operators introduced beneficial FRM. case Accra, Ghana proves benefits integration all FRM steps. During participatory stakeholder engagements six sectors were identified assembly network. backbone multisectoral, layered model 433 point elements, 1216 connector elements 486 polygon elements.
